A WILD UPDATE: MAY BREEDING RECAP

We’ve officially wrapped up another breeding season here at the farm—and this May was definitely one for the books!

Before the summer heat really settled in, our team hustled to get just under 500 cows bred over the past month. It was a push of long days, careful planning, and a whole lot of hands-on work from our farm crew—and we’re proud to share what all was accomplished.

Here’s a quick look at what went down this May:

  • 84 embryos were transferred for our own Wilders program.

  • 72 customer embryos were transferred.

  • That’s 156 total embryos transferred in one month!

  • 50 fullblood Wagyu cows AI’d for our program.

  • We are turning out bulls on 270 fullblood Wagyu females.

All in, nearly 500 females were bred this month using some of the top sires in the breed—including TBR Shogun, TBR Shogun 2, WILD 32K, WILD 112L, HP Triumph T0190, and Macquarie Q0291. These genetics represent the heart of both our program and the customer programs we serve, and they’re laying the foundation for some exciting calf crops in the months ahead!

For now, there’s not much to do but wait. We’ll begin pregnancy checks in about 45 days, once we hit mid-summer—and from there, we’ll start sorting through which females will be carrying some exciting opportunities for our customers come fall.

Speaking of fall... while we won’t give too much away just yet, let’s just say this May’s breeding season was full of big moves and long-term planning. You’ll definitely see the impact of this work when StayWILD'25 rolls around in November—keep an eye out for bred heifers and embryo pregnancies that trace straight back to this month’s efforts!
