Meet the New Faces at the Farm

OUR 2025 WILDERS WAGYU SUMMER INTERNS!

Meet Sophia McNulty

Title: Agriculture Management Intern

School: NC State University

Major: Animal Science

Sophia is spending her summer with the Wilders team to gain even more hands-on experience in agricultural management and cattle production. A lifelong cattle enthusiast, she was drawn to the internship for the opportunity to work with 100% Wagyu cattle and learn from a team that’s passionate about innovation in agriculture.

“I wanted to intern at Wilders to get more agricultural management and cattle experience,” Sophia shared. “I want to learn new things from a great company. RiverWILD has so many opportunities for me to learn and grow from.”

This summer, she’s especially excited to dive deeper into Wagyu cattle management and see firsthand the different practices that set Wilders apart.

Jase joined the Wilders team this summer with a clear goal in mind—gaining hands-on experience that will support his future career as a veterinarian. He’s passionate about learning the ins and outs of animal husbandry and is especially eager to take on the challenges that come with food animal production.
When asked what drew him to the Into the WILD Internship Program, Jase said, “I wanted to be a Wilders Intern to further grow professionally through gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of large animal husbandry and daily care that will benefit me in my future career as a veterinarian.”

As the summer unfolds, he’s "most excited for the expansion of my knowledge of animal husbandry and the various challenges of food animal production.”

Meet Hannah Morgan

From: Condamine, Queensland, Australia

Hannah has been an incredible addition to the farm this season, spending her time working closely with our performance horse team. She has been working under Andrew Coates in the performance horse division. She shared, “My responsibilities include assisting Andrew and Nicole with day-to-day horse management to ensure they’re all fed, watered, worked and happy!”

In her words, the learning experience has been invaluable: “I don’t even know where to start, I have learned so much from Andrew and Nicole in regard to cutting horses and training these awesome athletes! There will definitely be a few tips and tricks in terms of horse management that I will be taking home with me.”

When asked about her favorite part of being on the farm, Hannah didn’t hesitate: “I love the community aspect here at Wilders. My favorite memories would have to be the social dinners and gatherings where everyone gets together. It really is just one big work family—that’s the only way I can describe it!”

We’re excited to have students like Jase and Sophia joining us for a summer full of learning, hands-on experience, and purpose-driven work. The Into the WILD Internship Program is more than just an internship—it’s a chance to step into the heartbeat of agriculture and leave with lessons that last well beyond the season. Be sure to follow along as they take on a summer that’s sure to be anything but ordinary! And a big thank you to Hannah for her time on the farm this season! We are thankful for her contributions and positive spirit, which have made a lasting impression on our team. We will certainly miss her and wish her safe travels back to Australia!
